Goals of the Course
The aim of this seminar is to delve into a diverse array of topics within Applied Psychology, highlighting both the similarities and differences between humans and non-human primates. By examining key areas such as cognition, emotion, perception, learning, communication, and social behavior, students will gain a deeper understanding of the evolutionary roots of human psychology. At the same time, this course invites students to explore new conceptualizations of shared values and abilities across primate species, fostering an appreciation for the continuity and diversity of life. Students will develop skills in critical thinking, scientific reasoning, and cross-species analysis.

Objectives of the Course
The discussions will challenge students to think critically about the biological, psychological, and environmental factors that shape behavior. In the end of the course, students will be able to understand and practice the fundations for research in applied psychology from the theory to practice (sampling techniques, methods of qualitative and quantitative research) as well as ethical and cultural considerations to be undertaken during research. Ultimately, this course aims to sparkle the students' curiosity for these topics across the human and non-human species.
