Goals of the Course
As an advanced applied subject, this course focuses on the legal systems in Asian countries, particularly in Southeast Asia. Recognizing that some participants may lack a legal background, the initial part of the course introduces the concept of law globally and examines the expansion of Western legal systems in the modern era, juxtaposed with indigenous norms existing in Asian societies. Subsequently, the course delves into the study of constitutional laws in Southeast Asian countries, highlighting how these laws reflect national identities and societal perceptions of justice.
