授業の目的 【日本語】
Goals of the Course(JPN)
本講義は、共同体としてのASEAN及び近年急速な体制移行を経験したASEAN各国の法、政治、社会、文化的背景に関する理解を深めることを目的とする。各講義では、この地域における政治・社会発展の歴史、ASEAN各国における憲法秩序、法・司法制度の確立に焦点を当てる。また、日本とASEANの関わりについても考察する。
本講義は、短期または長期の海外留学に参加する学生が、法学や政治学を理解するために必要な英語力を身につけることも目的としている。留学の予定はないが、英語力の向上やアジアに関する知識の習得に関心のある学生の受講も歓迎する。
授業の目的 【英語】
Goals of the Course
This course aims to broaden the understanding of law, politics, social, and cultural contexts of ASEAN as a community and ASEAN member states as they have experienced a rapid transition in recent years. The lectures will focus on the history of political and social development in the region, the establishment of constitutional order, and legal/judicial institutions in member states. In addition, it will look at how Japan interacts with ASEAN.
This course is also designed to assist students who will join short or long-term overseas study with the English skills necessary for understanding law and political science. Students who do not plan to study abroad but are interested in improving their English skills and knowledge about Asia are also welcome to take this course.

本講義では、学生が、ASEAN地域の法多元性、トランスナショナルな政治・社会を理解し、比較法・政治に関するテーマについて英語で討論に参加する能力を身に付けることができる。

Objectives of the Course
Students will be able to understand legal diversity, transnational politics, and society in the ASEAN region and acquire the ability to participate in discussions in English on topics related to comparative law and politics.
授業の内容や構成
Course Content / Plan
This course will be organized into three parts; the first part will mainly consist of introductory lectures, and the second part will include ASEAN country studies. The third part will offer students a chance to prepare and present presentations on specific regional topics. Participants are expected to ultimately develop their own viewpoints and ideas about some ongoing legal and political issues of the region, as a result of the combination of lectures and presentations.
