Goals of the Course [JPN] | | | 自身の専門性を生かして社会で活躍する、もしくは社会課題を解決するような研究プロジェクトを実行するには、異分野の専門家とともに協働する力（異分野コラボレーションスキル）が必須である。本科目では、異分野の学生と3〜4名のチームを組んでプロジェクト提案を行う演習を行う。それにより、異分野コラボレーションの重要性、難しさ、スキルを実践から学ぶ。チームごとに提案されたプロジェクトのうち、特に価値が高く実現可能なものについては、秋学期に開講される「異分野コラボレーションスキル演習Ⅱ」において実行する。 |

Goals of the Course [ENG] | | | The ability to collaborate with experts in different fields (interdisciplinary collaboration skills) is essential to play an active role in society by utilizing one's own expertise or to carry out research projects that solve social issues. In this class, students will propose a new project as a team with students from different fields. Students will learn the importance, difficulty, and skills of interdisciplinary collaboration through this practice. Among the projects proposed by each team, those that are particularly valuable and feasible will be carried out in the "Interdisciplinary Collaboration Skills II" to be held in the fall semester. |

Objectives of the Course [JPN] | | ・「名古屋大学大学院生の研究活動をより充実させるための方策」に関するプロジェクトを、授業で紹介されたツールを活用しながら提案できる。
・異なる価値観、専門をもっている相手と、効果的なコミュニケーションを行える。
・漠然と設定された問題（今回は「名古屋大学大学院生の研究活動をより充実させるためには」）について、異なる角度からの分析やデータ収集等を通じて問題を明確化できる。
・チームメンバーが各自の専門性を発揮し、それを効果的に融合してプロジェクトが提案できる。

Objectives of the Course [ENG] | | ・Students canl propose a project on "ways to enhance the research activities of Nagoya University graduate students" using the tools introduced in the class.
・Students can communicate effectively with others who have different values and specialties.
・Students can clarify a vaguely defined problem (in this case, "How to enhance the research activities of Nagoya University graduate students") through analysis and data collection from different angles.
・Students can propose a project in which team members demonstrate their expertise and effectively integrate them.

注意事項
Notice for Students | | 授業は基本的に英語で行いますが、日本人教員サポートし、講義も理解しやすいようスライドを用意しますので、英語力に自信がない学生も参加してください。チームワーク中は日本語と英語、その他の言語を状況に応じてうまく使い分けてください。実践的な英語力を訓練したい学生におすすめです。もちろん、日本語が話せない留学生も歓迎いたします。
授業は集中講義（2コマ連続×7回＋1コマ1回）として実施します。
Classes will basically be conducted in English, but Japanese faculty member will support the students and lectures will be delivered with slides for easy understanding, so students who are not confident in their English ability are encouraged to participate. During teamwork, please use Japanese, English, and other languages as appropriate for the situation. This course is recommended for students who want to train their practical English skills. Of course, international students who do not speak Japanese are also welcome.
The class will be conducted as an intensive lecture (2 consecutive sessions x 7 + 1 session). |

Message from the Instructor | | 科学技術が高度化した現代においては、アカデミアで研究を続けるにしろ、社会で活躍するにしろ、異分野の専門家と協働するスキルは必須になります。しかし、研究室で研究活動を行っているだけでは、なかなか異分野の専門家と協働する機会は得られません。本授業を通じて、異分野の専門家と協働することの難しさ、そして楽しさを味わってもらいたいと思います。また、プロジェクトの課題を「名古屋大学大学院生の研究活動をより充実させるためには」という、みなさんにとって身近なテーマに設定しています。自由な発想で各自の専門を生かし、名古屋大学大学院生らしい、全く新しいプロジェクトの提案を期待します。失敗しても良い環境で思いっきりチャレンジしてください。
In today's world of advanced science and technology, whether you are continuing your research in academia or working in society, it is essential to have the skills to collaborate with experts in different fields. However, it is not easy to get opportunities to collaborate with experts in different fields just by conducting research activities in your own laboratory. Through this class, I would like students to experience the difficulties and joys of collaborating with experts from different fields. In addition, we have set the project theme as "How can we enrich the research activities of Nagoya University graduate students? We expect you to think freely, make use of your own specialties, and propose a completely new project that is unique to Nagoya University graduate students. Please challenge yourself with all your might in an environment where it is okay to fail. |
