Goals of the Course [ENG] | | | The graduate program of Nagoya University emphasizes the importance of training in higher academic and professional abilities. This course focuses on higher professional abilities that are transferrable to any professional task (PhD Skills). Participants understand the importance of PhD Skills and learn some core skills. Students will enhance the abilities and qualities to be engaged in cross-border collaboration, good communication with professionals from diverse disciplines, and leadership behavior in and out of the country. |

They will gain an understanding of the opportunities and training activities available to enhance these skills and develop a mindset that incorporates long-term, continuous skill improvement programs into their graduate research life. |

授業の内容や構成
Course Content or Plan | | 1,イントロダクション：各研究科や専攻で実施されるオリエンテーション
2,大学院生活を描く：大学院生としてのスタートをきるにあたり、自身の目標や獲得すべきスキルについて自覚する。
3,論文を構築する：研究論文執筆の準備として、論文目的に即し、書く必要のある情報を確認し、執筆プロセスや論文の構成を考えることができるようになる。
4,説明力を磨く：アクティビティを通じて1分間でわかりやすく、かつ興味深く自分の研究内容を他者に紹介できるようになる。
5,公正研究のススメ：自分の研究観を見つめ直し、他者と共有することで、公正研究の意義と意味を考え、また、身の回りに起こりうる問題の予防と解決のヒントを得る。
6,多様性で活力を上げる：多様性の重要性を理解するため、ジェンダー(社会的性)を例に、性別によらず全ての人が活躍することによる社会の活性化の仕組みを知る。
7,心身を整える：大学院生が学生生活を送るうえで有用な知識を獲得するとともに、ストレスや困難に対処できる力を身につける方法を体験し、今後の備えとする。
8,キャリアを設計する：自分のキャリアプランを考えるにあたっての要点を知り、大学院生活をどのように活用していけばいいのかを理解する。
1. Guidance: This is an orientation held at each graduate school
2. Preparing for your graduate study: Raising awareness of your own objectives and the skills you need to acquire through your life as a graduate student
3. Structuring your thesis/articles: Learning how to build a one-sentence thesis statement that encapsulates the essential components of your research, and how to structure the entire writing process based on the thesis statement.
4. Making an effective presentation: Learning how to make a one-minute presentation of your research concept or research results in diverse settings to attract attention and draw interests
5. Researching with integrity: Understanding the significance of research integrity by rethinking your own research perspective and sharing this with others, and picking up some suggestions on how to prevent and resolve issues that might arise
6. Researching in a diverse and inclusive setting: Taking the example of gender (social gender) to learn about mechanisms for energizing society through the active participation of all people, regardless of gender or culture, in order to understand the importance of diversity
7. Turning up yourself: Experiencing the methods used to acquire the ability to withstand stress and difficulty in preparation for the future, as well as acquiring useful knowledge about life as a graduate student
8. Designing your career: Learning how to develop your own career plan, and understanding how to utilize your life as a graduate student to the full |

Course Prerequisites and Related Courses | | この授業は全大学院生が履修することを目的としているため、名古屋大学大学院に入学した学生は全員履修が可能です。
This class is intended to be taken by all graduate students, so all students enrolled in the Nagoya University Graduate School can take this class. |

成績評価の方法と基準
Course Evaluation Method and Criteria | | 上記１への参加、ならびに２〜８の各回の授業におけるリフレクションシート及び最終レポートにより、合否を判定します。
2025年1月16日から7月15日までに最終レポートが提出された場合、2025年度春学期の単位として合否判定が行われます。
2025年7月16日から2026年1月15日までに最終レポートが提出された場合、2025年度秋学期の単位として合否判定が行われます。
いくつかの講義を受講したものの、最終レポートが期限までに提出されず、当該年度・学期の合否判定対象にならなかった場合、未受講分の講義を履修のうえ、最終レポートが提出されると、完了時点の年度・学期の単位として合否判定が行われます（学籍があるかぎり）
A pass/fail will be decided based on the final report submission period as follows:
・If you submit the final report between 16 January 2025 and 15 July 2025, you will receive credit for the spring semester of the 2025 academic year.
・If you submit the final report between 16 July 2025 and 15 January 2026, you will receive credit for the fall semester of the 2025 academic year.
If you attend some lectures but fail to submit the final report by the specified deadline and are not evaluated for that academic year or semester, you may take the remaining lectures and submit the required final report in a subsequent semester to receive credit for the academic year or semester in which you complete all requirements (as long as you remain a registered student). |

Notice for Students | | 講義資料は、TACT上で公開します。TACTにてプロフェッショナル・リテラシー2〜8を受講し、各講義のリフレクションシートを提出の上、博士課程教育推進機構（https://dec.nagoya-u.ac.jp/）マイページから最終レポートを提出してください。 リフレクションシートと最終レポートの提出方法などについては、TACT掲載のマニュアルを確認してください。
本科目は、受講前の所属研究科における履修登録は不要です。
TACTで講義サイトの登録を行ってください。
上記１、２を最初に受講することを推奨しますが、履修順序は問いません。
The lecture materials will be uploaded to TACT. Please take Lectures 2-8, submit all the Reflection Sheets, and a final report from "My Page" on HP of Doctoral Education Consortium(https://dec.nagoya-u.ac.jp/). About details on how to submit the Reflection sheet and Final report, please confirm the manual posted on TACT.
There is no need for you to register for this course at your own graduate school in advance. However, you need to join the lecture sites on TACT.
The DEC recommends you to start with lectures 1 and 2, but there is no particular order for taking the lectures. |

Message from the Instructor | | 社会は、大学院の修了者に対して、高度な学術能力だけでなく、専門家として求められる汎用的な技能の習得を期待しています。名古屋大学がPhDスキルと呼ぶ汎用的な技能群の習得には、継続的な努力と自分の専門以外の専門家や国内外の人々との交流機会が極めて重要です。この講義は、学生がPhDスキルを磨く多様な機会の存在を明らかにし、技能を多様な専門家との交流の中で高めていくための俯瞰図を提供しようとしています。
大学院の生活は、間違いなく多忙であり、精神的緊張が必要な作業と不可分です。その多忙な生活の中で、時間を作り、汎用的なPhDスキルを高めることは、自分を将来の職場で生かすことにつながります。この講義を通して、専門家の多様性に触れてください。
博士後期課程に進学を検討している学生さんは、「東海国立大学機構メイク・ニュー・スタンダード次世代研究事業」の必須活動にもなっておりますので、博士前期課程の間に履修しておくことをお勧めします。
Current global society expects degree holders of higher education to have both high academic abilities and outstanding professional abilities. Nagoya University named transferrable professional skills "PhD Skills." The mastery of PhD Skills needs continuous efforts and broad encounters with professionals from various professions in and out of the country. This course intends to identify opportunities for students to learn PhD Skills and to show the way to improve their skills through interaction with competent professionals.
The life of a graduate student is busy and demanding. Students must maintain a high concentration for research and collaboration. It is critical to make time to improve PhD Skills for good professional life in the future. This course will introduce you to multifaceted professionals.
Students who are considering entering the doctoral program are encouraged to take this course during their master's program, as it is also a required activity for "Make New Standards Program for the Next Generation Researchers". |
