Goals of the Course [JPN]
フランス語を初めて学ぶ受講生を対象に,基礎的な文法や語彙の学習,初歩的な言語の実践を通じてフランス語圏の文化や世界観を知り,その理解のプロセスによって多様な人々との協働,多文化に対する開かれた寛容な態度,想定外の諸局面に対応する柔軟性を培います。

Goals of the Course [ENG]
This course is designed for students who are new to learning the French language. It helps them recognize the thought patterns inherent in the French language and culture through elementary language practice. Furthermore, through the process of understanding the language, they are able to collaborate with diverse people, exhibit an open and tolerant attitude toward multiple cultures, and exercise flexibility in dealing with unexpected situations.

読む・書く・聞く・話すという全般的運用能力の養成を目指す。毎週2回の授業のうち、一つは、基礎的文法事項の修得が主たる目標であり、もう一つは、それと連携しつつ、発音・講読・会話・作文などの基礎的能力の養成を目指す。また、フランス語圏の社会・文化についても関心を促し、基礎的な知識を獲得できるようにする。

Objectives of the Course [ENG]
More specifically, this class will focus on conversation and pronunciation. It will also focus on reading
and writing, although in a less prevalent manner. Which doing so, this course will provide students zith a better understanding of the cultural characteristics of French.
The specific goals for the end of the semester will be to be able to have a basic conversation, ask and answer questions, and read and write simple texts.

Course Content or Plan
Classes will be organized around themes, which will vary from one class to another or every other class, depending on progress. The themes will include:
Spelling / Greetings / Introducing oneself / Counting / Talking about nationality and profession / Asking questions / Saying which language one speaks / Talking about one’s tastes / Expressing likes and dislikes / Nuancing one’s statements / Talking about family

Course Prerequisites and Related Courses
This class will be conducted in French, as the goal is to focus on French language. However, explanations will be given mainly in English, so a good command of English is necessary for a smooth learning process.
成績評価の方法と基準
Course Evaluation Method and Criteria
30% of the grade will be engagement in class.
30% will be based on 3 short written tests during the semester.
40% of the grade will be conversational skills, tested through an Oral exam.

Study Load (Self-directed Learning Outside Course Hours)
The class is mainly about practice, during class. Missing classes will be hard to make up for, so please be present at each class. Engagement in the practices during class is the most important.
Self-directed study load will only be necessary to ensure you are up to date with grammatical notions or vocabulary used during the class.
Reading out-loud practices at home may be demanded.
