専門的学習のツールとして外国語の能力を高め，異文化理解を深めて，国際社会に相応しい教養を育むことが目的です。リスニングとスピーキングを主としたコミュニケーションの能力を高め，ディスカッションやプレゼンテーションのための基礎力を養成します。

This course is intended to improve students’ skills in listening and speaking suitable for academic communication in English. Students will develop basic oral/aural communication skills for academic discussion and presentation.

成績評価の方法と基準
Course Evaluation Method and Criteria
Listening Tests 25%; Assessed Discussions 25%; TOEFL-ITP 30%; e-Learning 20%. Students who do not intend to complete the course need to submit a Course Withdrawal Request Form during the semester.
【授業の達成目標】に記載した内容が達成されることを合格の基準とします。履修取下げの際に申し出を必要としない。５回以上欠席をした場合、「Ｗ」とする。

Notice for Students
履修修正によるクラス間の移動は認められない。授業を未受講、または評価が「Ｗ」となった場合、次の期の単位補充クラスを受講できない。同じ科目を再履修できるのは次の次の期（1年後）になる。進級・卒業に支障をきたさないよう十分注意すること。「履修の手引き」の英語科目の注意事項を要確認。12月のTOEFL ITP受験が必要。
