Goals of the Course [ENG]
【Standardized across all programs】 In this course, students will build on the skills learned in Academic Japanese 1A and acquire fundamental reading and composition skills to read and write analytical texts. The course aims to develop skills to comprehend and compose longer texts, while at the same time covering intermediate-level vocabulary, grammar, and Japanese characters. The Japanese level of this course is about N2 of JLPT.

Objectives of the Course [ENG]
In this course, students will build on the skills learned in Academic Japanese 1A (Reading & Writing I). They will gain the fundamental skills to read and compose analytical and longer texts. It will also cover intermediate-level vocabulary, grammar, and Japanese characters.

Course Prerequisites and Related Courses
It is recommended that students have completed Academic Japanese 1A (Reading & Writing I). Class materials are designed for higher-level intermediate students.
成績評価の方法と基準
Course Evaluation Method and Criteria
・Participation and Quizzes 40%, Compositions 40%, Exam 20%. Achievement of the objectives stated in the [Objectives of the Course] section will be considered the criterion for passing the course.
・Students who withdraw from this course must notify the instructor in charge in a written form.
・If a student is absent from classes more than 4 times, the grade will be “Absent.”
