Goals of the Course [JPN] | | | グローバリゼーションが進行する中，多くの開発途上国で発展のための多様な努力がなされています。目覚しい発展を遂げる国もあれば，発展から取り残される国もあります。また，それぞれの国内でも，開発の恩恵に浴する人たちと，そうでない人たちが出ています。また開発は環境の悪化などの問題も引き起こしています。講義では，諸外国におけるこのような開発の光と影の実態及び法律，政治，社会などの諸側面における対応の現状と課題とについて考察します。 |

Goals of the Course [ENG] | | | With the acceleration of globalization, many developing countries have made great strides in development. However, while some countries have accomplished remarkable development, other countries have been left far behind. At the same time, even within countries that have experienced high levels of development, there are some groups that reap the benefits of that development, while others have barely been affected. In addition, there are also many problems that have been caused by development, such as environmental degradation. This lecture looks at both the light and dark sides of development as experienced by various countries, and also examines the present ways of dealing with these issues in the fields of law, politics, and society. |

2. 貧困、教育、保健、不平等等の主要な国際課題を理解し、現代社会との関係を説明できる。
3. GDPや貧困率など代表的な経済社会統計指標を読み取り、その意味を説明できる。
4. 新聞・国際機関報告書に示される統計や図表を批判的に読み、簡単な考察ができる。 |

Objectives of the Course [ENG] | | 1. International Development and SDGs: I can explain the fundamental concepts of international development assistance and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in my own words.
2. Understanding Global Issues: I have a deep understanding of major global challenges—such as poverty, education, healthcare, and inequality—and can articulate their relationship with contemporary society.
3. Socio-Economic Indicators: I am capable of interpreting key socio-economic indicators, such as GDP and poverty rates, and explaining their underlying significance.
4. Critical Analysis of Data: I can critically analyze statistics, charts, and diagrams found in newspapers and reports from international organizations to develop concise, evidence-based insights. |
