Goals of the Course [ENG] | | | Psychology is the science of the human mind, and covers a wide range of issues, from basics such as perception, feeling, and learning, to applications into such matters as human development, interpersonal relationships, groups, cultures, and psychological problems. In this course, we aim to pursue the laws of our mental world, and deepen our understanding of human cognition, emotion and behavior. |

Objectives of the Course [JPN] | | | 心理学は，ヒトや動物のさまざまな行動，およびそこから推測されるこころの働きを，科学的に研究する学問です。日常の出来事の多くは，心理学の対象になり得ます。心理学はヒトの歴史と深く関わってきた一方で，学問として体系化されてからの歴史は比較的浅い分野です。私たちは今後どのような進路を選んでも，他者とかかわりながら生活していきます。人や行動を理解すること，そしてそれを理解するための方法を知っておくことは重要です。本授業では，その基礎となる考え方と見方を身につけることを目標とします。 |

Objectives of the Course [ENG] | | | Psychology is the scientific study of the diverse behaviors of humans and animals, and of the mental processes inferred from those behaviors. Many aspects of everyday life can be considered topics for psychological inquiry. While psychology is closely connected to human history, its history as a formal academic discipline is relatively short. Regardless of the career path you choose, you will live and work with others throughout your life. Understanding people and their behavior—and knowing how to study and evaluate such understanding scientifically—is therefore important. In this course, the goal is to build a foundation for thinking about, observing, and explaining mind and behavior from a psychological perspective. |
