The purpose of this course is to understand the basic concepts of Construction Grammar as a cognitive-linguistic approach to syntax, with special reference to English.

構文文法の基本概念を理解し、言語現象の分析法を習得する。
授業の内容や構成
Course Content / Plan
各回、英語で書かれた教科書を10ページ前後読み進めていく。インタラクティブな講義ののち、類例・発展例を全員で分析する。扱う章は以下の予定。

1. Introduction
2. Usage-based construction grammar
3. Morphological constructions
4. Word, phrasal and idiom constructions
5. Complex phrasal and clausal constructions

基本的な英語読解能力。授業内でインフォーマルなディスカッションを行う機会が多いので、それに積極的に参加できること。
成績評価の方法と基準
Course Evaluation Method and Criteria
宿題への解答・授業への貢献（20%）、レポート試験（80%）。
60点以上を合格とする。
