授業の目的　【日本語】
Goals of the Course(JPN)
本授業の目的は主に二つある。一つは、英語で書かれた短編を読むことを通して「短編」というジャンルの多様性を知り、同時に短編を読むための様々なアプローチを習得することである。作家と作品及びその時代背景についても学ぶ。また、文学作品のテキストを精読する手法にも親しむ。

Goals of the Course
The course has two main objectives. The first is to understand the diversity of the "short story" as a genre through reading short stories written in English. The second is to become familiar with various approaches for interpreting short stories. Students will learn about major authors, their works, and their historical backgrounds. Additionally, students will practice methods for the close reading of literary texts.

３）精読を通して個別作品の基礎的な読解能力を習得する。

第２回以降の各回において、様々な英語で書かれた短編作品を読解しつつ、重要な技法や概念等の理解を講義・発表・ディスカッションを通して深めていく。

特にないが、英語で書かれた文学作品を辞書を引きながら読むことができる程度の英語力が求められる。
成績評価の方法と基準
Course Evaluation Method and Criteria
・授業点80％
・・・レポート50％
・・・授業への参加 30%
・期末レポート20％。
＊＊期末レポート提出は単位取得に必須。
＊欠席３回で評価が下がり、欠席４回以上で不可となる。遅刻3回で欠席1回分とみなす。30分以上の遅刻は欠席扱いとする。
