Goals of the Course(JPN) | | | 本講義は、戦後日本における占領改革の全体像を把握し、その改革がいかなる理念・制度設計・政策手法によって推進されたのかを理解することを目的とする。あわせて、占領改革を一方的な外圧として捉えるのではなく、日本側の政治家・官僚・知識人・社会がどのようにそれを受容し、対応し、主体的に関与したのかを検討する。これにより、占領期改革の歴史的意味と、その後の日本社会への影響を多角的に考察する力を養う。 |

Goals of the Course | | | The purpose of this course is to provide students with an overview of the occupation reforms in postwar Japan and to deepen their understanding of the principles, institutional designs, and policy instruments through which these reforms were implemented. Rather than viewing the occupation reforms solely as a form of external imposition, the course examines how Japanese actors—including politicians, bureaucrats, intellectuals, and society at large—accepted, responded to, and actively engaged in the reform process. Through this approach, students will develop the ability to critically and multifacetedly assess the historical significance of occupation reforms and their impact on postwar Japanese society. |

Objectives of the Course(JPN) | | 本授業を通じて、受講生は以下の能力を身につけることを目標とする。
１．戦後日本における占領改革の主要な内容と全体的枠組みを、歴史的背景とともに説明できる。
２．占領改革がどのような政策手法・制度設計によって実施されたのかを、具体例を挙げて理解・説明できる。
３．占領改革の過程において、日本側の主体（政治家・官僚・知識人・社会）が果たした役割について、資料に基づいて考察できる。
４．占領改革を「外からの強制」と「内からの受容・対応」という二つの視点から相対化し、自らの言葉で論述できる。 |

Objectives of the Course | | Through this course, students are expected to acquire the following competencies:
１．To explain the main components and overall framework of postwar occupation reforms in Japan in relation to their historical background.
２．To understand and explain, with concrete examples, the policy instruments and institutional designs through which occupation reforms were implemented.
３．To analyze, based on primary and secondary sources, the roles played by Japanese actors—such as politicians, bureaucrats, intellectuals, and society at large—in the process of occupation reforms.
４．To critically assess occupation reforms by relativizing them from two perspectives—external imposition and internal acceptance and adaptation—and to articulate their analysis in their own words. |

Study Load(Self-directed Learning Outside Course Hours) | | 授業時間外の学習として、配布資料および授業内で提示された史料・補助資料を読み、講義内容を整理しておくこと。その際、単なる内容理解にとどまらず、「占領改革はどのような意図と手法で進められたのか」「日本側はそれにどのように関与・対応したのか」という観点から、重要な点や疑問点をまとめておくこと。
また、授業中のディスカッションや講義で扱った論点について、自身の考えを簡潔に整理し、次回の授業や小テスト、レポートに備えること。 |
