授業の目的　【日本語】
Goals of the Course(JPN)
東アジアがハードパワーに見合ったソフトパワーを獲得できるかどうかは、地域的な問題であると同時にグローバルな問題でもある。本演習では、第一にジョセフ・ナイ（Joseph Samuel Nye Jr.）のソフトパワー概念構想における東アジアの役割を検討し、第二にハードパワーとソフトパワーの多様な関係性について米国をはじめとする事例を通じて歴史的に検証し、第三に東アジアのソフトパワーの現状と展望について調査する作業を進める。
授業の目的　【英語】
Goals of the Course
Whether East Asia can acquire soft power commensurate with its hard power is both a regional and a global issue. This exercise will proceed with the following tasks: First, examine East Asia's role within Joseph Samuel Nye Jr.'s conceptual framework of soft power. Second, conduct a historical examination of the diverse relationships between hard power and soft power, using the United States and other examples. Third, investigate the current state and prospects of East Asia's soft power.

演習は、課題のテキストに対する報告と討論を主な内容とする。講義中の教材は基本的に日本語の文献を使用する予定だが、参加者の言語能力に応じて、古典漢文や中国語・韓国語・英語の文献も使用する可能性がある。
