Objectives of the Course | | | The goals of this class are to acquire: 1) the ability to accurately understand texts in the social sciences, 2) the ability to extract the main points of a text and summarize them in Japanese, 3) the ability to rephrase the content in appropriate Japanese, 4) the ability to analyze the structure and logic of academic essays, and 5) the ability to write academic essays in Japanese based on the results of the analysis. |

Students require at least Japanese proficiency level N2. |

To pass,
Students must participate and actively express what they understand from class and their thoughts on the topics.
On the final examination, students must demonstrate their understanding of the article's main points and their paraphrasing skills. |
