生物学研究を行う上で必要不可欠な、英語文献(原著論文や英文教科書)を読みこなす力や、口頭発表し議論する能力を磨く。

Goals of the Course

The aim of this course is to develop the skills needed to obtain biological knowledge from academic papers and textbooks. Students will also learn effective methods for scientific presentation, communication, and debate.

1. 与えられた文献(英語論文や英文教科書)を読み解きから、論文内容を把握し、説明する能力。
2. 興味のある英語論文を自分で探し、その論文の内容および当該分野の背景を理解し、説明する能力。

Objectives of the Course

The goals of this course are to develop the following abilities:
Ability to read original English papers or textbooks and to understand and clearly explain their content.
Ability to search for relevant English‑language research articles and to understand and explain both the content of the papers and the broader background of the field.

授業の内容や構成
Course Content / Plan

(中野担当) 教員が指定した英語原著論文を輪読し、論文の構成と内容を理解し、引用文献の参照の仕方とそれによって論文内容をより深く理解する過程を学ぶ。次に各自で英語原著論文を読み、その内容を授業参加者に発表し、発表資料を自ら構成する。各回の発表に対して、教員・授業参加者からコメントをフィードバックし、より効果的なプレゼンテーションを模索する。発表内容は、各自で事前にまとめておくこと(宿題形式)。　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　(小原担当) 教員が指定した細胞生物学に関する原著論文を輪読し、その内容を理解する。図の見方や解釈に関する注意点なども学ぶ。これに続いて、自ら細胞生物学に関する原著論文を選んで解読し、内容をスライドにまとめてプレゼンテーションする。プレゼンテーションに対して、参加者全員で質疑応答を行い、内容の深い理解を目指す。発表に用いるスライドは各自で事前に作成しておくこと（宿題形式）。受講者の理解レベルに応じて、スライド作成とプレゼンテーションをグループ形式で行う可能性がある。
