Goals of the Course
Catalysts play an important role in automobiles. Exhaust gases from automobiles, including hybrid vehicles, are purified by the catalysts. Catalysts are also used in fuel cell vehicles to produce electricity from hydrogen and oxygen. Furthermore, catalyst is demanded in the related field of automotive. In this lecture, students will acquire basic knowledge of catalysis and catalysts. Through this lecture, students will learn.

1. Catalysis and its definition
2. Materials and structures of solid catalysts
3. Catalysis for exhaust gas purification
4. Catalysis for fuel cell
5. Catalysts for other application related to automobiles.
