授業の目的　【日本語】
Goals of the Course(JPN)
見る・聞く・言葉の理解などの，脳でなされている情報処理を支える神経回路網，情報処理の共通原理，処理機構の解明について学ぶ。生体情報処理についての歴史的・技術的な背景を述べる．マクロ的な情報処理を司る脳，ミクロ的な情報処理の基礎となる細胞，神経回路網，特殊感覚として発達した視覚，聴覚について，それらの構造と機能の知見について述べる．また，この知見に基づいた，コンピュータ科学的手法による情報処理機能の実現への寄与について述べる．

Goals of the Course
Mechanism and characteristics of information processing in human visual and auditory perception, and their applications based on an approach by a computer science are lectured.

本講義では，人間の優れた情報処理機能に対して，それを実現する脳の仕組みである，神経回路の機構と感覚特性を学び，コンピュータ科学的アプローチによる実現を学ぶ。
本講義の到達目標は，
1．生体情報処理に関する生理学，心理的知見の仕組みを理解し，説明できる
2．生理学，心理的知見に対して，コンピュータ科学的アプローチによる実現への寄与について理解し，説明できる

Objectives of the Course
Students learn the mechanism and characteristics of information processing in human perception, and their applications.
The goals of this course are to
1. be able to learn basics of physiological/psychological knowledge on biological information processing, and explain its application,
2. be able to learn basics of realization in the field of computer science based on physiological/psychological knowledge, and explain its application.
授業の内容や構成
Course Content / Plan
まず，生体情報処理についての概要を説明し，情報処理を司る脳，情報処理単位となる細胞，神経回路網を学び，高次の機能である知覚機能について，構造と機構について学ぶ。各項目で，これらの知見に基づいた，コンピュータを用いた情報処理機能の実現のための寄与について述べる。

Outline of Information Processing in Biological Systems
Brain - structure and function of human brain
Neural network - cellular structure, model, and artificial neural network model

Auditory processing - perception, sound source localization, and clues of computer audition

履修条件は要さない。
成績評価の方法と基準
Course Evaluation Method and Criteria
到達目標に対する評価の重みは，同等である。
レポート課題の評価30％，期末試験70％，合計100点満点で60点以上を合格とする。
期末試験を受けなかったときは「W」または「欠席」とする。
The two objectives are evaluated as same weight.
Stundets are assessed by Homeworks (30%) and written examination(70%) .
The passing mark is 60 points on a basis of 100 points.
Students who do not take the written examination will be scored "W" or "absence".
