授業の目的 【日本語】
Goals of the Course(JPN) | | 哲学がどのような学問であるのかについての基礎的な知識の習得を目的とする。具体的には、哲学がどのような問題を扱ってきたのか、つまり、哲学の主題のいくつかと、そうした問題についての特定の見解をどのように論証するのか、つまり、哲学の方法論の基礎を学ぶ。
このような基礎を学習した後では、比較的近年の哲学が身近な事柄（例えば、AIやインターネット、人工知能）についてどのような問題を提起し、その問題にどのように応答しようとしているのかを学習する。

授業の目的 【英語】
Goals of the Course | | The goal of this course is to acquire fundamental knowledge about what philosophy is as a discipline. Specifically, students will learn both the subjects (i.e., the problems that philosophy has addressed in the past) and methods of philosophy (how to argue for specific views on these problems).
After learning these basics of philosophy, students will study how recent philosophy raises questions about familiar matters (such as AI, the internet, and artificial intelligence) and how it seeks to respond to these questions. |

授業の内容や構成
Course Content / Plan | | 本授業では、哲学がどのような学問であるのかを学習するが、それは過去の哲学者の見解を解説し、記憶してもらうということではない。哲学が取り上げてきた問題について、それを哲学者がどのように論じてきたのかを、彼らの論証を分析、評価することで学習することが主目的である。
最初の2回程度は講義を行うが、以後は(1) 学生にテキストを読んでもらい、その要約を発表してもらう、(2) テキストについてディスカッションを行うという形式で進める。
※発表者以外も、テキストを読んだ上で授業に望むこと。テキストは英語だが平易な英語で書かれている。 | |

成績評価の方法と基準
Course Evaluation Method and Criteria | | | 授業でのディスカッションへの参加(２0%)、テキストの要約発表(30%)、期末レポート(50%)の合計100点満点で評価する。成績評価基準については全学のそれに準拠する。途中で履修の取りやめを希望する場合は，担当教員の許可を必要とする。 | |
