授業の内容や構成
Course Content / Plan | | Through assignments and class activities, students will develop analytical skills to examine various uses and associated meanings of space in popular culture and artistic texts.
The course readings will be organized around the following themes:
I. Gender and Media - Theoretical Premises,
II. Questioning the Gender Binary,
III. Genres and Visual Narratives,
IV. Time, Space and the Politics of Belonging. |

課外学習等（授業時間外学習の指示）
Study Load(Self-directed Learning Outside Course Hours) | | | All students are expected to come to class with weekly readings done. For every class, you will write a critical response (300-500 words) to a required reading, in which you will (i) summarize the core argument of the text; and (ii) write your commentaries and questions regarding this text. You must submit your response paper to a reading in the class in which the reading will be discussed. Main objectives of this assignment are to encourage your active engagement with diverse cultural and social theories, to prepare you for class discussion and to facilitate the development of your critical thinking and writing skills. |
