Goals of the Course | | | This course aims to examine contemporary higher education and international higher education through a series of works by Simon Marginson. Drawing on key concepts such as agency and public goods, the course will engage with texts including Global Higher Education in Times of Upheaval: On Common Goods, Geopolitics and Decolonisation (forthcoming, 2026) and The Future of Cross-Border Academic Mobility and Immobility: Power, Knowledge and Agency (2025). By exploring transformations in higher education and international higher education, the course provides opportunities to critically examine their underlying principles and evolving roles. |

授業の内容や構成
Course Content / Plan | | 次のような構成を予定しています。
詳細なシラバスは授業初回に配布します。
①オリエンテーション：詳細なシラバスを配布し、演習の方法を説明します。
② 次の2種類の書籍を中心に購読を行い、現代の高等教育及び国際高等教育の理解を深めます。
・Global higher education in times of upheaval: On common goods, geopolitics and decolonisation（2026予定）
・The future of cross-border academic mobility and immobility: Power, knowledge and agency（2025）
従来は（国際）移動やその効用が着目されていましたが、圧倒的多数は非移動者であり、（国際）移動が必ずしも望ましい結果をもたらすとは限りません。視点の転換も含めて例えば以下のような章から構造を学びます。

4. Mobility, Immobility and Precarity: The Mobility Imperative and Its Impact on Precarious Academics（Aline Courtois and Theresa O’Keefe）

Course Evaluation Method and Criteria | | | 100点満点で、「授業への参加」50点、「課題発表」50点で配分し、合計で60点以上を合格とします。授業への参加はミニッツペーパー（MP）で評価します。 |
