授業の目的 【英語】 Goals of the Course | | The purpose of this course is to improve your communication skills and presentation skills in English by reading a textbook and discussing on psychometrics and/or educational measurement.
Although, this course is open for both undergraduate and graduate students, you are not required to have much ability on statistics. The main aim of this course is to use English and to get confidence. |

授業の内容や構成 Course Content / Plan | | 英語のテキストや文献を講読します。各回の授業では,英語による会話のあとに,数名の発表者によるプレゼンとディスカッションを行います。発表者は英語で資料を作成してください。
You will read textbooks, articles, or materials relating to the focused topic. In each session, after English conversation, some of you will make brief presentations following discussions. Materials are partitioned into small parts and assigned to every student who needs a credit, so many of you will provide presentations once or more. You are required to prepare a handout for your presentation written in English with several quiz. |

履修条件・関連する科目 Course Prerequisites and Related Courses | | 授業はおもに英語で行われますが,英語を上手に話せる必要はありません。留学生と交流したい,英語でコミュニケーションしたい,発表したい,という希望があればよいです。
This course is held mostly in English. You are expected to use English. However, much English ability is not necessary. Motivation to use English is sufficient. |

成績評価の方法と基準 Course Evaluation Method and Criteria | | プレゼン30%,資料30%,授業への貢献度40%
Sections: quality of presentations (30%), resumes (30%), and degrees of contribution to discussions (40%).
Criterion: The course credit will be issued when you take over or equal to 60% performance in above sections as total. |

注意事項 Notice for Students | | 参加者の多くは英語非母語話者なので,完璧な英語を話す必要はありません。文法も気にしなくて構いません。重要なことは,英語を使うことに馴れることです。お互いを尊重し合い,気楽に行きましょう!
Most of us are not native English speakers including the instructor. So, we do not expect you to speak perfect English. You do not also have to care about grammar so much. The important thing is to get familiar with using English in the classroom. English levels are not the same between students. So, you have to pay respect to all other students. Take it easy! |
