Based on the premise that Western modernity emerged as a synthesis of diverse civilizations encountered since the Age of Exploration, it explores how East Asian civilization—particularly Confucian political thought—was utilized in shaping modernity. |

Course Content / Plan | | | まず、西洋近代政治思想の形成と東アジア政治思想の役割に関する最新の研究を検討する。Simon Kow, China in Later Enlightenment Political Thought. Routledge Studies in Social and Political Thought, 2025がその一つである。既存研究の検討過程において重要な論点、事例、資料を把握し、参加者間で検討の必要性が共有された主題に関する一次・二次資料を読み、議論する。 |
