授業の目的 【英語】 Goals of the Course | | [Theme] Politics of International Organizations
What roles do International Organizations (IOs), such as the United Nations or European Union, play in international society? The purpose of this seminar is for students to learn basic ideas and concepts to analyze IOs from the political perspective and to be able to utilize these ideas and concepts for considering and analyzing global issues.

成績評価の方法と基準 Course Evaluation Method and Criteria | | (1) Short Papers (60%: 10% × 6)
Critically engage with the assigned readings and independently formulate questions and reflections prior to each class session.
(2) Contribution to Class Discussions (20%)
Actively and voluntarily contribute to discussions by sharing informed opinions on the readings and research presentations, aiming to stimulate interest and dialogue among peers.
(3) Presentation (20%)
Give a brief presentation on the assigned materials (Research questions, literature review, framework or hypothesis, methods and empirical arguments, and conclusion) and raise comments and questions on them.
* Full attendance is prerequisite for the "A+" credit.
* Plagiarism will not be tolerated on any written assignment. Plagiarized work of any kind or any other form of academic dishonesty will result in an automatic “F” for your grade.
* Copying what Generative AI (like ChatGPT) creates will be regarded as academic dishonesty.

課外学習等(授業時間外学習の指示) Study Load(Self-directed Learning Outside Course Hours) | | (1) Before the class: Students must critically read the assigned materials, organize their opinions, prepare at least three questions in advance, and research basic information on the topic. Please do not forget to examine basic components of academic paper.
(2) During the class: Students are required to actively share their opinions and questions and engage in multiple rounds of discussion to deepen their understanding.
(3) After the class: Students are strongly encouraged to review key concepts and frameworks covered in the session. |
