Goals of the Course(JPN)
本講義の目的は、ビジネスの主要分野であるマーケティングおよびファイナンスの基礎を学生が習得することである。本講義では、市場細分化、リレーションシップ・マーケティング、消費者行動、ブランド・マネジメント、価格戦略および販売促進などのマーケティング分野の内容に加え、会計および財務情報、財務諸表、財務計画、短期および長期の資金調達、銀行システムなどのファイナンス分野の基礎的事項を扱う。

Goals of the Course
This course aims to help students acquire foundational knowledge in two key functional areas of business: marketing and finance. Major topics covered in this course include market segmentation, relationship marketing, consumer behavior, brand management, pricing and promotion, accounting and financial information, financial statements, financial planning, short- and long-term financing, and banking systems.

本講義を修了した学生は、以下の能力を身につけることが期待される。
1. マーケターがターゲット顧客をどのように特定し、効果的にアプローチするかを説明できる。
2. マーケティングが顧客との関係をどのように構築するかを説明できる。
3. ビジネスの成功に不可欠な会計の基礎および財務情報について説明できる。

After completing this course, students will be able to:
1. Explain how marketers identify target customers and effectively reach them.
2. Explain how marketing builds and maintains relationships with customers.
3. Demonstrate an understanding of the accounting fundamentals and financial information essential to business success.

Week 1-2: Course orientation, Chapter 11 - Marketing: Helping Buyers Buy

Week 3-4: Chapter 12 - Managing the Marketing Mix: Product, Price, and Promotion

Week 5-6: Chapter 13 - Using Technology to Manage Information

Week 7: Exam 1 (Chapters 11-13)

Week 8-9: Chapter 14 - Understanding Accounting and Financial Information

Week 10-11: Chapter 15 - Financial Management

Week 12-13: Chapter 16 - Money, Financial Institutions, and the Federal Reserve

Week 14: Exam 2 (Chapter 14-16)

Week 15: Report due

成績評価の方法と基準
Course Evaluation Method and Criteria
[Course evaluation]
1. Exams - 50%
There will be two exams. Each exam is non-cumulative and will cover only the materials taught since the previous exam. Missed exams will receive a grade of zero.
2. Assignments - 40%
There will be six chapter quizzes and one report. Each assignment has a due date. Late submission will be accepted with a penalty of a 10% deduction per day (24-hour period).
In addition, there will be six in-class assignments
3. Participation - 10%
Participation points will be earned through class attendance, speaking in class, and Kahoot quizzes.

[Grading Schema]
To pass this course, you must receive a C- or higher grade. The grading schema is the following:

This course covers the chapters on marketing & finance in the textbook listed as a reference. The chapters on management, operations management, and human resource management in the textbook are taught in the fall semester of odd-numberd years under the course titles Introductory Management I (E) and Special Lecture for Basic Subjects (Management I).
