Goals of the Course | | | This seminar aims to develop a comprehensive understanding of major research streams and theoretical frameworks in Production and Operations Management through critical reading of seminal and recent studies. It also supports students in refining their thesis ideas by reviewing literature related to their individual research interests. |

5. 学術的議論を通じて研究内容を論理的に説明・発展させる能力を養う。
By the end of the seminar, students will be able to:
1. Understand major theories and research trends in Production and Operations Management.
2. Critically evaluate academic articles by identifying research questions, methods, and contributions.
3. Organize and synthesize prior studies related to their research topics.
4. Formulate clear research questions and develop a thesis proposal.

1. 出席および継続的な参加：20％
毎回の出席とゼミ活動への継続的な関与。
2. 発表の準備と内容：30％
担当論文の要約・批判的検討、文献レビュー、および研究進捗報告の質。
3. 議論への積極的参加：25％
他者の発表に対する建設的なコメント、質問、および学術的討論への貢献。
4. 研究活動への主体的取り組み：25％
文献調査の進展、研究課題の明確化、および論文構想の発展状況。
※正当な理由のない欠席や発表未実施は評価に影響する。

この科目を合格するためには、C-以上の成績を取得する必要があります。成績評価基準は以下のとおりです。

[Course evaluation]
Evaluation in this seminar is based on participation in seminar activities and will be assessed according to the following criteria:
1. Attendance and consistent engagement: 20%
Regular attendance and sustained involvement in seminar activities.
2. Quality of presentations and preparation: 30%
Clarity and depth in presenting article summaries, critical reviews, literature reviews, and research progress.
3. Active contribution to discussion: 25%
Constructive comments, questions, and engagement in academic discussions.
4. Initiative in research development: 25%
Progress in literature review, refinement of research questions, and development of thesis ideas.
Unexcused absences or failure to complete assigned presentations will negatively affect the evaluation.

4. 研究課題の整理および論文構想の検討
1回の授業につき、概ね3〜5時間程度の授業外学修を想定している。
Students are expected to engage in the following work outside class:
1. Careful reading of assigned and related research articles
2. Preparation of presentation materials
3. Literature review related to individual research topics
4. Development and refinement of research ideas
Approximately 3–5 hours of preparation per class session is expected. |
