Goals of the Course(JPN) | | | この授業の目的は、グローバルな課題に対する取り組みの諸相を、社会科学の分析視角から考察することにある。とくに、地球規模に広がる国際政治・経済の問題に対して如何に連携し、どのような解決策を導いていけるのかを、政治学や国際関係論の観点から検討することにある。今日の世界では、利害が異なる国家や国際組織が混在し、軍事紛争や経済摩擦、環境破壊に関する問題などが複雑に絡み合っている。それらの問題は、世界各国の市民による協調的な取り組みを必要としている。この授業では、社会科学の理論や分析概念を駆使しながら、国際政治・経済の問題に多角的な観点から包括的にアプローチしていく。 |

Goals of the Course | | | The aim of this course is to explore various aspects of international initiatives to tackle global challenges, from the perspectives of the social sciences. In particular, its aim is to explore in what ways international collaboration can be promoted and effective measures can be implemented to resolve international political and economic issues spreading on a global scale, from the perspectives of Political Science and International Relations. In the world today, states and international organizations with competing interests coexist, and complex issues such as military conflicts, economic disputes, and environmental degradation are closely intertwined. These issues call for international initiatives involving people around the world. This course takes a comprehensive approach to international political and economic issues from multiple perspectives while utilizing various theories and concepts of the social sciences. |

授業の内容や構成
Course Content / Plan | | この授業で取り上げる問題は、下記の3分類を念頭に置き、世界の動向や受講生の関心を考慮しながら選定する。
特定国に関する問題 -- 米国や中国といった大国や、北朝鮮やイランといった中小国の、経済や安全保障の戦略に起因する国際紛争
地域から広がる問題 -- 欧州やアジアなど特定の地域から発生しながら、欧州連合(EU)や東南アジア諸国連合(ASEAN)といった地域機構が解決できていない課題
普遍的な問題 -- 安全保障や経済秩序の揺らぎ、地球温暖化に伴う混乱、人権や民主主義の危機、急速なグローバル化に対する反発など、世界各地で顕在化している問題 | The issues covered in this course, which can be divided into the following three groups, will be selected on the basis of the latest international developments and the interests of students.
Issues concerning specific states: inter-state disputes stemming from economic and security strategies of major powers such as the US and China, as well as smaller states such as North Korea and Iran
Issues emerging from particular regions: challenges rooted in particular regions such as Europe and Asia which have not been resolved by regional organizations such as the European Union (EU) and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)
Universal issues: problems emerging in various parts of the world, including the deterioration of security and economic order, social turmoil caused by global warming, crises of human rights and democracy, and a backlash against rapid globalization |
