授業の目的 【日本語】 Goals of the Course(JPN) | | レプトンフレーバーとその破れ
レプトンフレーバーは標準模型において近似的に保存される対称性であるが、ニュートリノ振動の発見によりニュートリノ部門におけるレプトンフレーバーの破れ(nLFV)が実験的に確立されている。一方、荷電レプトンフレーバーの破れ(cLFV)は、標準模型を超える新物理を探索するための極めて鋭敏な手段であり、特に μ→e 変換を探索する COMET 実験は世界最高感度でこの対称性の破れを検証する計画である。
本講義では、レプトンフレーバー対称性の理論的基礎とその破れを、nLFV と cLFV の両面から統一的に解説するとともに、レプトン数の破れ(LNV)やレプトジェネシスとの関係も含めて理解することを目的とする。 |

授業の目的 【英語】 Goals of the Course | | Lepton Flavor and Its Violation
Lepton flavor is an approximate symmetry of the Standard Model, but its violation in the neutrino sector (nLFV) has been firmly established by neutrino oscillation experiments. In contrast, charged lepton flavor violation (cLFV), in particular μ→e conversion as studied by the COMET experiment, provides one of the most sensitive probes of physics beyond the Standard Model.
The aim of this course is to give a unified understanding of lepton flavor and its violation, covering both nLFV and cLFV, and to clarify their relation to lepton number violation (LNV) and leptogenesis. |

到達目標 【英語】 Objectives of the Course | | The goal for students is to acquire the following knowledge and skills:
Understanding the theoretical framework of lepton flavor symmetry and its violation (LFV).
Understanding neutrino oscillations as manifestations of nLFV.
Understanding cLFV processes such as μ→eγ and μ→e conversion.
Being able to relate the sensitivity of COMET to predictions of simple new physics models.
Understanding the distinction and interplay between LFV and lepton number violation (LNV). |

Neutrino masses and mixings, and nLFV (neutrino oscillation)
cLFV as effective field theory operators and the predictions in the Standard Model
μ→eγ and μ→e conversion:Physics at the COMET experiment
Flavor violation in seesaw model, SUSY and Z' models
LFV and LNV: The relation between the neutrino Majorana masses and the leptogenesis |
