授業の目的 【日本語】
Goals of the Course(JPN)
Goals of the Course
This course is designed for graduate students aiming to systematically learn the essential features of both basic and advanced organic chemistry. The course aims to understand the intellectual roots of organic chemistry and organometallics through the specific topics selected for the respective classes, and to develop an appreciation for organic molecular structures, characterizations, preparations, and reactivities, as well as the corresponding reaction sequences. Students are able to solve progressive problems in the respective topics.
到達目標 【日本語】
Objectives of the Course(JPN))
Objectives of the Course
The objective of the course is for students to gain a deep understanding of the foundational concepts of organic chemistry by exploring specific topics selected from organic chemistry and organometallics. They can develop the ability to link organic molecular structures to their characterizations, preparations, and reactivities, as well as understand the corresponding reaction sequences. Additionally, students can learn how to solve progressively challenging problems in related fields, building on the knowledge acquired from the course content.

Course Evaluation Method and Criteria
・Grades will be based on the assessment of reports (60%) and presentation (40%). Credits will be awarded to students who score 60 or more. Students must submit each homework assignment by the beginning of the next class, as it is vital for reviewing the corresponding lesson. Submitting homework late or not at all results in a point deduction.
・Submission of the "Course Withdrawal Request Form is necessary to withdraw from the course. The student needs to contact the course instructor to withdraw from the course.
・Sufficient absences (exceeding 1/4 of the total number of classes) will result in an 'F' grade: It is for the protection of other attendants in the corresponding course from the frequent absences of the specific/uncertain student(s).

・Students are recommended to prepare each lecture by reading the corresponding chapters in the textbook and reviewing them by solving the related homework questions. NU general guidelines consider the necessity of an average of 2~3 hours of personal study time per credit.
・Students are recommended to review the lectures by solving the homework questions related to them. Each assignment is due at the start of the next class unless there is a special announcement. Late or missing assignment submissions result in a grade deduction.
・Participants can access lecture materials for each lesson via NUCT and check the schedules via the link.
・The course instructor may ask students pop-up questions during lectures to provide substantial feedback.
