Goals of the Course(JPN)
プロジェクト・サイクル・マネジメント(PCM)は、国際開発高等教育機構(FASID)によって開発された、参加型のプロジェクト計画、モニタリング、および評価の手法である。
本講義の目的は、ワークショップを通じて、学生がPCM手法を理解し、実践的に活用できるようになることである。
なお、本講義は講義形式ではなくワークショップ形式で実施されるため、学生の積極的な参加と協力が不可欠である。

Goals of the Course
Project Cycle Management (PCM) is a participatory approach to project planning, monitoring, and evaluation developed by the Foundation for Advanced Studies on International Development (FASID).
The purpose of this course is to enable students to understand and apply the PCM method through hands-on workshops.
As this course is conducted in a workshop format rather than a lecture format, active participation and cooperation among students are essential.

Structure of the Course / Schedule

1.Overview of the PCM Method: Theory, Procedures, and Workshop Rules
2–4. Stakeholder Analysis: Identifying Stakeholders at the Project Site
5–7. Problem Analysis: Identifying Cause-and-Effect Relationships in the Project Context
8–10. Objectives Analysis: Identifying Means and Ends Based on the Problem Analysis and
Exploring Potential Project Options
11–12. Project Selection: Selecting Feasible Projects Based on Cost, Time, and Other Constraints
13–14. Formulation and Appraisal of the Project Design Matrix (PDM)
15.Operational Planning: Preparation of Activity-Based Operation Sheets and Concluding Remarks

Course Format and Requirements
・This course is conducted in a workshop format and requires extensive group work.
・Students will be divided into sub-groups of approximately five members each.
・A maximum of two sub-groups will be formed; therefore, the maximum enrollment for this course is approximately ten students.
・Students are expected to actively participate in the workshops, not only through discussion but also by taking turns serving as moderators.
・There is no final examination. Student evaluation is based on active participation and contributions to the workshops.

Evaluation and Grading Policy
Credit will be awarded to students who receive a grade of C (where applicable) or higher, based on the following criteria:
(1)Active Participation in the Workshop: 50%
(2)Logical Thinking and Leadership Demonstrated during the Workshop: 50%
