授業の目的 【英語】 Goals of the Course | | | The private sector has increasingly become a critical actor in economic and social development in developing countries and emerging economies. This interdisciplinary course integrates both business and development perspectives to explore how enterprises contribute to and are shaped by development processes. From the business perspective, students will explore how multinational corporations and enterprises operate in emerging markets, including foreign direct investment, market entry strategies, global value chains, and international human resource management. From the development perspective, the course examines how business activities influence employment creation, workforce development, poverty reduction, and inclusive growth in developing countries. Students will analyze diverse issues ranging from labor markets and the informal economy to global integration mechanisms and public-private partnerships, acquiring knowledge and skills relevant for formulating business strategies and development policies that contribute to sustainable and inclusive development in emerging economies. |

到達目標 【英語】 Objectives of the Course | | | Upon completion of this course, students will be able to analyze the complex relationships between business activities and development outcomes in emerging economies. Students will be able to evaluate the role of foreign direct investment and multinational corporations, including their impacts on technology transfer, employment creation, and local enterprise linkages. Students will be able to assess labor market dynamics, informal economy challenges, and skills development issues in developing countries. Students will be able to apply business strategy frameworks to evaluate market entry strategies and operational challenges in emerging markets. Finally, students will be able to design development-oriented business strategies that align commercial objectives with inclusive growth and sustainable development goals. |
