Objectives of the Course | | 1. To acquire research perspectives and methodologies for Japanese architectural and urban history.
2. To deepen understanding of the structural and design characteristics of Japanese architecture.
3. To deepen understanding of the formation processes of historical cities, as well as their spatial and social aspects.
4. To acquire the ability to interpret the characteristics of architecture and cities through the analysis of drawings, pictures, and historical documents.
5. To deepen understanding of the relationships between architecture and cities and the society, religion, culture, and daily life surrounding them. |

履修条件・関連する科目
Course Prerequisites and Related Courses | | 学部で建築史１〜３のいずれかを履修していることが望ましい。
歴史に興味関心を持ち、日本の歴史や文化に関わる科目を履修していることが望ましい。 | It is desirable to have taken one of the lectures in the Architectural History 1-3 at undergraduate level.
It is desirable to have an interest in history and to have taken courses related to Japanese history and culture. |

成績評価の方法と基準
Course Evaluation Method and Criteria | | | 学期末に出題するレポートの成績により、総合点(100点満点)にて、60点以上をC-、65点以上をC、70点以上をB、80点以上をA、95点以上をA+とする。レポートは、授業内容に関連した課題を出題し、課題に対する理解力、課題対象の分析力、レポート執筆の構想力を評価する。 | The report mark determines the grade. 60–64 points: C-, 65–69 points: C, 70–79 points: B, 80–94 points: A, 95–100 points: A+.
Reports are evaluated based on the student's understanding of the assignment, analytical skills, and conceptual ability in report writing. |

Then you should read the materials before each lecture. And I will introduce some books about each theme on my lecture, you will read them to study again. |
