Goals of the Course(JPN) | | 【授業の目的】今日の東南アジア諸国では分権化とグローバル化を背景に都市化が急激に進展している。その一方で、環境保全やSDGsを要請する国際的圧力もこれまでになく強まっている。こうした構造的脈絡において、中心（大都市）と周辺（地方）の関係にどのような変化が生じており、どのような社会・環境的諸問題が生起しているのかに関する理解を深めることがこの授業の目的である。またそうした現状理解を踏まえ、アジアにおける気候変動適応（CCA）や災害リスク軽減（DRR）の特徴について社会学の観点から検討する。

Goals of the Course | | Objective
Urbanization is rapidly advancing in Southeast Asian countries today against a backdrop of decentralization and globalization. At the same time, international pressure demanding environmental conservation and SDGs has intensified. Within this structural context, the purpose of this course is to deepen our understanding of the changes occurring in the relationship between the center (metropolitan areas) and the periphery (rural areas), and the resulting social and environmental issues. Furthermore, based on this understanding of the current situation, we will examine the characteristics of Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) in Asia from a sociological perspective.

授業の内容や構成
Course Content / Plan | | 授業は対面で実施する（全学344教室）。
【授業の構成】最初に、東南アジアの都市化や気候変動適応（CCA）に関する最近の研究動向について講義する。それを踏まえて、当該の研究分野で定評ある著作（論文集）から受講生が関心のある論文を選択し、講読と質疑を行う。授業で用いる著作リストは授業担当者が用意する。以下は、想定される主な論点の例示である。
1 発展途上国の都市化の基本的特徴とその現代的変化
特にインドネシアにおけるスハルト体制崩壊後の分権改革に関する諸議論
2 大都市の社会変動と環境変動
特にジャカルタ都市圏の社会経済的再編と「水危機」問題
3 地方の都市化と資源開発
特にスマトラにおける森林開発と災害
4 気候変動と自然災害
グローバルな気候変動がローカルな災害の発生に及ぼす諸影響
【授業時間外学習の指示】授業開始時までに所定の論文を必ず熟読し、論点を整理しておくこと
| Structure of the seminar:
Initially, I will lecture on recent research trends concerning urbanization and climate change adaptation (CCA) in Southeast Asia. Based on this, students will select papers of interest from established works (collected papers) in the field for reading and discussion. The instructor will provide the list of works used in class. The following are examples of anticipated key discussion points.
1. Basic characteristics of urbanization in developing countries and their contemporary changes
In particular, various discussions on decentralization reforms following the collapse of the Suharto regime in Indonesia
2 Social and environmental changes in megacities
In particular, socioeconomic restructuring and “water crisis” issues in Jakarta
3 Urbanization and resource development in remoter areas
In particular, deforestation and disasters in Sumatra
4. Climate change and natural disasters
Impacts of global climate change on the occurrence of local disasters
Students are requested to read every article in advance. |

成績評価の方法と基準
Course Evaluation Method and Criteria | | ・報告、ディスカッションへの貢献、期末レポートによって評価する。
・期末レポートは、「気候変動適応に関する社会学的アプローチとは何か」をテーマとする。
・ディスカッションへの「貢献」とは、テーマへの理解を深めるような問いや意見を発することを指す。
・報告30%、ディスカッションへの貢献30%、期末レポート40%で点数をつけ、100点満点で60点以上を合格とする。 | - Evaluation is based on presentation (30%), contribution to discussion (30%) and final report (40%). The score above or equal to 60 is required for credits.
- Theme of final report is to discuss what is sociological approach to climate change adaptation.
- Contribution to discussion means making useful remarks on the issues. |
