Goals of the Course [JPN]
Goals of the Course [ENG]
This course aims to help students move beyond AI-generated writing by developing original research ideas and logically convincing arguments. Through this process, they will cultivate the logical and critical reasoning skills that distinguish human intelligence from automated text generation.

Objectives of the Course [JPN]
前期科目「Research Skills T(Logical Thinking Skills in the Age of AI – I)」の続編ではあるが、前期を受講していない学生も、論理的思考力や論証構成力を強化する目的で受講することができる。

Objectives of the Course [ENG]
The main objectives of this course are to help students make their research more convincing and original. While it continues from Research Skills T (Logical Thinking Skills in the Age of AI – I), students who did not take the first course can also join and learn how to strengthen their logical thinking and argument-building skills. Specifically, the course focuses on three key skills:
1.Developing an engaging introduction: Students learn how to design an effective introduction that presents the research background, problem, and plan in a clear and appealing way.
2.Building the Premise of Defense (POD): Students strengthen the convincingness of their argument by anticipating and responding to possible counterarguments.
3.Reinforcing research originality and significance: Students learn how to highlight the originality and academic contribution of their study.

Through these objectives, students, whether or not they have taken the first-semester course, develop the ability to think logically, argue convincingly, and communicate their research ideas with originality and confidence.
Course Content or Plan
In this course, you will continue to collaborate in groups and actively participate in discussions and workshops. All activities will revolve around your own research, helping you systematize your logical structure, strengthen your defense, and refine your writing style for publication-level clarity. During the fall semester, you will take part in the following sessions:

L1: From Proof to Defense (Lecture) — Review the logical foundation from the first semester and explore how proof develops into defense.
L2: The Role of the Introduction (Lecture) — Understand how a well-written introduction frames the research question and engages readers.
L3: Designing the Logical Flow of a Paper (Workshop) — Organize sections and sub-arguments into a coherent overall structure.
L4: Writing an Engaging Introduction I (Workshop) — Draft the background, problem statement, and purpose clearly and concisely.
L5: Writing an Engaging Introduction II (Peer Review & Revision) — Refine the introduction for logical consistency and reader appeal.
L6: Understanding the Premise of Defense (Lecture) — Learn how to anticipate counterarguments and construct fair, logical responses.
L7: Identifying Potential Challenges (Workshop) — Detect weaknesses or limitations in your own argument.
L8: Constructing the POD I (Workshop) — Formulate logical defenses that reinforce the validity of your thesis.
L9: Constructing the POD II (Group Work & Discussion) — Collaborate to test and refine defense strategies.
L10: Analyzing AI-Generated Counterarguments (Workshop) — Use AI tools to simulate opposing viewpoints and strengthen your defense.
L11: Integrating POP and POD (Lecture) — Unify proof and defense into a balanced, persuasive argument structure.
L12: Writing the Discussion Section (Lecture & Workshop) — Connect your findings to broader research contexts and implications.
L13: Developing the Full Logical Outline (Workshop) — Design the complete logical map of your paper from introduction to conclusion.
L14: Final Presentation (Peer Review & Feedback) — Present your integrated argument and receive feedback on logic and coherence.
L15: Reflection and Future Directions (Discussion) — Reflect on your growth as a logical thinker and discuss how to apply these skills beyond AI-assisted writing.
