Goals of the Course [JPN] | | 名古屋大学大学院では、高度な学術能力に加え、専門家として社会のさまざまな場で活躍するために必要な汎用的技能（PhDスキル）の育成を重視しています。本授業は、全ての大学院生に身につけてほしいPhDスキルについて理解するための導入科目として位置づけられています。
オンデマンド型の7つの授業では、PhDスキルがなぜ研究活動や将来のキャリアにおいて重要となるのかを踏まえながら、各スキルの基本的な考え方や特徴、さらにそれらをどのように伸ばしていくことができるのかを学びます。その上で、学生一人ひとりが、自らの成長を継続的に設計し、研究生活やその先のキャリアの中で主体的に学び続けていくための出発点となることを目指します。 |

Goals of the Course [ENG] | | In addition to advanced academic expertise, Nagoya University Graduate School places strong emphasis on the development of transferable skills (PhD skills) that are essential for professionals to succeed in a wide range of societal contexts. This course is positioned as an introductory subject designed to help all graduate students understand the PhD skills that the university expects doctoral-level professionals to acquire.
Students will learn why PhD skills are important for research activities and future career development, as well as the fundamental concepts, characteristics, and ways to further develop each skill. Building on this foundation, the course aims to serve as a starting point for each student to continuously design their own growth and engage in self-directed, lifelong learning throughout their graduate studies and beyond. |

Objectives of the Course [JPN] | | 本授業では、学生が以下の事項を達成することを目標とします。
1.自律、思考、提案、協働に関するPhDスキルが、専門家としてどのような意義を持つかを理解する。
2.PhDスキルを高めるための学内外の機会や訓練方法について把握する。
3.自身の大学院での研究生活を見通し、PhDスキルの向上に向けた取り組みを計画的・継続的に進めていくための発想方法を身につける。

Objectives of the Course [ENG] | | In this course, students aim to achieve the following learning outcomes:
1. Understand the significance of PhD skills related to autonomy, critical thinking, proposal development, and collaboration for professionals.
2. Identify opportunities and training methods, both within and outside the university, for enhancing PhD skills.
3. Develop ways of thinking that enable them to plan and continuously pursue initiatives to improve their PhD skills in the context of their graduate research life.
4. Cultivate an attitude of proactively engaging in learning and collaboration beyond their own academic discipline. |

授業の内容や構成
Course Content or Plan | | PL1. 大学院生活を描く：大学院生としてのスタートをきるにあたり、自身の目標や獲得すべきスキルについて自覚する。
PL2. 論文を構築する：研究論文執筆の準備として、論文目的に即し、書く必要のある情報を確認し、執筆プロセスや論文の構成を考えることができるようになる。
PL3. 説明力を磨く：アクティビティを通じて1分間でわかりやすく、かつ興味深く自分の研究内容を他者に紹介できるようになる。
PL4. 公正研究のススメ：自分の研究観を見つめ直し、他者と共有することで、公正研究の意義と意味を考え、また、身の回りに起こりうる問題の予防と解決のヒントを得る。
PL5. 多様性で活力を上げる：多様性の重要性を理解するため、ジェンダー(社会的性)を例に、性別によらず全ての人が活躍することによる社会の活性化の仕組みを知る。
PL6. 心身を整える：大学院生が学生生活を送るうえで有用な知識を獲得するとともに、ストレスや困難に対処できる力を身につける方法を体験し、今後の備えとする。
PL7. キャリアを設計する：自分のキャリアプランを考えるにあたっての要点を知り、大学院生活をどのように活用していけばいいのかを理解する。
PL1. Preparing for your graduate study: Raising awareness of your own objectives and the skills you need to acquire through your life as a graduate student
PL2. Structuring your thesis/articles: Learning how to build a one-sentence thesis statement that encapsulates the essential components of your research, and how to structure the entire writing process based on the thesis statement
PL3. Making an effective presentation: Learning how to make a one-minute presentation of your research concept or research results in diverse settings to attract attention and draw interests
PL4. Researching with integrity: Understanding the significance of research integrity by rethinking your own research perspective and sharing this with others, and picking up some suggestions on how to prevent and resolve issues that might arise
PL5. Researching in a diverse and inclusive setting: Taking the example of gender (social gender) to learn about mechanisms for energizing society through the active participation of all people, regardless of gender or culture, in order to understand the importance of diversity
PL6. Turning up yourself: Experiencing the methods used to acquire the ability to withstand stress and difficulty in preparation for the future, as well as acquiring useful knowledge about life as a graduate student
PL7. Designing your career: Learning how to develop your own career plan, and understanding how to utilize your life as a graduate student to the full |

Course Prerequisites and Related Courses | | この授業は全大学院生が履修することを目的としているため、名古屋大学大学院に入学した学生は全員履修が可能です。
This class is intended to be taken by all graduate students, so all students enrolled in the Nagoya University Graduate School can take this class. |

成績評価の方法と基準
Course Evaluation Method and Criteria | | 成績は、7つのオンデマンド授業を受講し、これらの授業内容に関連するテストの成績に基づいて評価します。テストはTACT上で実施し、7月15日までに全問正解した場合を合格とします。なお、全問正解するまで、繰り返しテストを受験することが可能です。
Grades will be evaluated based on completion of the seven on-demand lectures and performance on a test related to the lecture content. The test will be administered via TACT, and students will pass the course by answering all questions correctly by July 15. Students may retake the test multiple times until all questions are answered correctly. |

Notice for Students | | 講義資料は、TACT上で公開します。リフレクションシートの提出方法およびテストの受験方法については、TACTに掲載するマニュアルを確認してください。
本科目は、受講にあたって所属研究科での履修登録は不要です。受講を希望する学生は、TACT上で本講義の講義サイト登録を行ってください。
なお、PL1を最初に受講することを推奨しますが、履修の順序は問いません。
Lecture materials will be made available on TACT. For instructions on how to submit reflection sheets and take the test, please refer to the manual posted on TACT.
This course does not require course registration through the student’s affiliated graduate school prior to enrollment. Students who wish to take the course should register for the course site on TACT.
Although it is recommended that students take PL1 first, the order in which the courses are taken is not restricted. |

Message from the Instructor | | 社会は、大学院の修了者に対して、高度な学術能力だけでなく、専門家として求められる汎用的な技能の習得を期待しています。名古屋大学がPhDスキルと呼ぶ汎用的な技能群の習得には、継続的な努力と自分の専門以外の専門家や国内外の人々との交流機会が極めて重要です。この講義は、学生がPhDスキルを磨く多様な機会の存在を明らかにし、技能を多様な専門家との交流の中で高めていくための俯瞰図を提供しようとしています。
大学院の生活は、間違いなく多忙であり、精神的緊張が必要な作業と不可分です。その多忙な生活の中で、時間を作り、汎用的なPhDスキルを高めることは、自分を将来の職場で生かすことにつながります。この講義を通して、専門家の多様性に触れてください。
博士後期課程に進学を検討している学生さんは、「東海国立大学機構メイク・ニュー・スタンダード次世代研究事業」の必須活動にもなっておりますので、博士前期課程の間に履修しておくことをお勧めします。
Current global society expects degree holders of higher education to have both high academic abilities and outstanding professional abilities. Nagoya University named transferrable professional skills "PhD Skills." The mastery of PhD Skills needs continuous efforts and broad encounters with professionals from various professions in and out of the country. This course intends to identify opportunities for students to learn PhD Skills and to show the way to improve their skills through interaction with competent professionals.
The life of a graduate student is busy and demanding. Students must maintain a high concentration for research and collaboration. It is critical to make time to improve PhD Skills for good professional life in the future. This course will introduce you to multifaceted professionals.
Students who are considering entering the doctoral program are encouraged to take this course during their master's program, as it is also a required activity for "Make New Standards Program for the Next Generation Researchers". |
